Spent 4-hours driving around including a couple of hours on Dartmoor, sunshine (albeit a bit chilly) and quiet roads, thought I would share a couple of pics B)

Salcombe. Visited today.

Another beautiful day. Visited Quantum then on to Salcombe, Torcross and Slapton. There is a memorial of a Sherman tank salvaged from the sea-bed 40 years after it sank in 1944 to commemorate a night time practice exercise that went horribly wrong when a group of tank landing craft were bounced by some German E boats and two were sunk, two damaged.

I was just about to put the camera away when some hoon in a tornado did a flyby.

Thanks for the comments on the pics etc.

Nigel,

Nice one, I watched the tank being pulled ashore back in 1984, as I remember it after all that time underwater it rolled down across the car park with the tracks going around (leaving a rusty trail behind), also remember the Conger Eels coming out of it for the next week or so (bit smelly)

Cheers
