Kit Purchasing Advice Needed

I am looking to purchase my kit within the next couple of months but I have a few questions and RH don't seem to be very responsive via email and the web site doesn't have the info I need.

One of my questions is do I have to buy the 2B Plus to get the Double wishbone front suspension system?

And I see they do additions to their kits but what if I don't want everything, e.g. I don't really want the following;

Exhaust Components

One complete twin tube exhaust system

Stainless steel exhaust heat protector

Light Set (E marked)

Chrome headlamp units (pair)

Sealed beam units (pair)

Front flasher lamps (pair)

Number plate lamp

Rear combination lamps (pair)

Rear fog lamp

Side repeater lamps (pair)

Interior Components

Mountney 11" leather rimmed steering wheel

Mountney steering boss

Perspex for instruments

High quality cockpit carpet

Length of vinyl

Cockpit edge finishing material

Snap on edge trim

Litre of high grade, heat resistant glue

Your thoughts/coments will be greatfully received.

As I understand it you now have to buy the 2B Plus kit to get the double wishbone suspension - £3000 + Vat. It used to be an option on the basic kit but that is now only available with sliding pillar. :(

RHE will not take things out of a kit - one of the reasons the kits are so cheap is they can buy items in bulk knowing they will sell one with every kit.

Best bet is to buy the kit you want then sell the unwanted items via the RHOCaR site or ebay.

Why not go along to your local meet - details in your RHOCaR magazine. You might be able to sell some items there.

One complete twin tube exhaust system
you really need to get the 4 - 1 manifold to marry up with aftermarket silencers.
Stainless steel exhaust heat protector

Side repeater lamps (pair)

This little lot doesn't come up to much anyway, so if you could get away without buying it, I'd bet it wouldn't come to £80

Why are you not getting the Mountney steering wheel? do you have something else in mind?

If you want to save money...get a part build from some who doesn't have 2+ years (at least) of spare time

Somewhere on here there is a thread that says "60-70% of sold kits never make it to the road"

As Jim says (he is rarely wrong :p )...the bits you don't want = £80

I bought my part built for 1400 quid!!!!

There are bargains to be had if you keep your eye

out, the only point I would add is that in my case

the car I bought ,everything that had been done was

to a poor standard, and everything had to be done again,

so I think the workload was in fact doubled.

They were selling the "Rear combination lamps (pair)" exactly like the RHood types (Sprite caravan) for £44 at Carcraft, So thats more than half way to your 80 quid

By the way if anyone wants a set of these we have a spare set :D :D

Are you using your reversing lamp? If not let me know coz I've cracked the glass on mine by over tightening it on a curved surface (doh!) so I need a new one.

Are you sure it just wasn't hit by really heavy bird poo? :p :D
