Qh Thermostat

Hi,

 

I've fitted a new 88 degree QH thermostat today and noticed a small ball in the spring:

Can anyone throw some light on the purpose of the ball?

 

It is not fixed and can roll around between the spring and the wax capsule.

never seen another with one,i reckon it got trapped between the coils by accident,remove it before it does any damage.
