Rolling Road Session

So took the zero down to Northampton motorsport for a rolling road session, they did a power run first to give me a base figure which came out at 150BHP, which felt about right as the map was a very low power map to get it through the IVA.

Fitted the hotter cams and had a re-map and now producing 183BHP and the car is so much more driveable, power everywhere, 2nd gear at 2k RPM, breathe on the accelerator and its like getting punched in the back

pleased with the results

I don't know what ECU you are using but if you can, link the laptop up and download a copy of the new map. Save it with a clear title like NHMS1211 so you can identify it later. Then you can tinker with the map if cold start, idle, transients are a problem. Then if you mess up you can always revert to the original.

its a Webcom alpha system and you can't get the software, According to Webcon they dont make it available because they believe only a specialist with a dyno can map it properly (the cynic in me says its to make money but there we go)

Apart from the nice power gains, how are enjoying the car overall? I bet Webcon contracts with "authorised" installers and tuners also prohibits then from releasing the software to the plebby public! Perish the thought we can use what we have paid for!

Mine's so close to 'driveable' I can smell it!! I have been tempted to get up at early doors one some Sundays and smoke some tram lines down the lane just to see what she goes like, but a busy work year and being away from Monday to Friday every week (oh yeah - and a house move in the middle!) have completely scuppered any ambition to be at one of the shows with a finished toy this year!! :-(

The Winter months are going to be spent doing the final fettling and fitting the windscreen and wipers in time to take them off again in 2012 and get it IVA'd.

Once I have done that a rolling road beckons - anyone got a recommendation for 2.0 Zetec, Jenveys and Emerald ECU in the Chepstow/Bristol area?

Cheers
