Zero Bonnet Retainers

The bonnet catches I have on my Zero are the standard rubber over centre type which as some other members here will unfortunately agree can be left undone. I looked at fitting Aero catches but decided this would leave a number of unsightly holes where the previous catches had been. So I've manufactured a couple of internal latches that hook the bonnet when its fitted.

I've attached pictures of the prototypes fitted to my Zero. They're shown here in conjunction with the GBS bonnet pins.

If anyone else would like a pair of these making IM me and we can agree suitable remuneration.

Bob,

The spring bears against a raised part of the bracket on the underside. The attached drawing shows the raised platform. The spring itself is a 180 degree torsion spring

Same way they do on your tin top.

Lift the bonnet a little and poke your finger in to push the latch back against the spring to release its hold on the bonnet.

P.S. I'm sure, in fact I know, there are plenty here who are perfectly capable of making these themselves.

If anyone prefers it I'm equally quite happy to post a couple of drawings and a BOM - again just let me know
