Donor Parts Clean Up

Hi,

Want to get the general opinion of what is the best method to paint all of the donor parts when cleaned up.

I plan to shotblast and then prime and paint.

I have normal car primer and black paint.

My concerns are:

For the brake calipers, I would assume I need high temperature paint? Is this true for the primer too?

For the hubs and drive shafts, is normal car paint sufficient?

Thanks all!

There is bound to be incoming on this -- but what the heck -- Black Hammerite Smooth -- clean by electrolysis plus grit blast for a good key -- then 2/3 coats of Hammerite sprayed on if possible;no undercoat required. Did all the black bits on Florin after phoning Hammerite company with regard to temperature rating. (4 wings painted by Chris N to a secret formula ) All has been fine, engine block, calipers, brake drums; & can easily be touched up if/when clips occur; as is the case with the wishbones.

Seconded on Hammerite for brake calipers! Use it on my daily drive and the paint is still hanging on in there after 40k miles of braking. Air driven needle chisel superb for removing flaky rust.

Thanks all - I'll check out the Hamerite options.

Florin - you're saying the Hamerite is suitable for the brake callipers then? Great :)

Thanks.
