Bottom Ball Joint

Can anyone tell me if there is a special tool or a knack to remove and replace the screw in bottom ball joint?

Have been told that the ball joints were fitted into a very hot wishbone, which would explain why I needed 24" stilsons to remove them on our 2B.

I need to unscrew them from the bottom wishbone to replace them. I've heard there is a special socket to remove and replace them.

There is it's called a hammer and drift. :-)

Have you tried to get them out yet? Even though they are supposedly shrunk in, mine were only finger tight when I checked them, and a few others have found them loose too. I now have them locked with a roll-pin drilled though the wishbone and engaged with one of the notches in the ball joint.

This is the proper tool for ball joint removal.

 

But I think that Chris Brown has the correct idea of a hammer and drift.
