Mate rang up today and asked if I could change his discs and pads as one side was making a noise, he came round with new pads and discs. What a pig of a job, one disc had split in 2 which I.ve not seen before. Then I couldn't get the bleeping thing off it had rusted to the hub, had to cut and air chisel it off. Took 3 hrs nearly to do both sides.

Ah you say copper grease but I did all 4 discs and pads on a Mondeo and used copper grease as getting them off destroyed the discs, when I came to replace a front bearing I could not get the discs off once again.

Gave it to my cousin ( heavy goods fitter) who had to heat it with a torch, cut off part of the bearing and press the new one in with a large press

It's becoming harder to DIY your car nowadays

I used the quick method on a mates car.

Front up on axle stands, wheels off and get it driving in 1st gear whilst feathering the brakes.

Worked a treat! :)

(Disclaimer..... Don't try this if yours has wheel studs and nuts)
