V5 Arrived Today

My V5C has just dropped on the door mat, yeah!!! Just phoned the insurance company and updated the reg number details. What happens about the tax disc? The only thing in the envelope was the V5C so I can go and get the plates made today, is the tax in the post?

Can I now drive the car?

You should have received the Plating Certificate and tax disc before the V5. My V5 arrived about two weeks after the certificate and tax disc.

 

You need the plating certificate in order to get plates made up.

You can get plates made up from the V5 but you need to take some id with you (photo driving license).

Phoned DVLA and they said tax will be along in about two weeks time but you can drive without it until it arrives.

Get the plates done online, don't need any documents then. If they are the proper size and font they will not bother the boys in blue and their anpr
