ok guys / girls.

A slightly diff take on an old theme.

I have a 2.0 blacktop zetec with type 9 box and am thinking of converting over to auto in the winter

I don't track day the car or thrash it I just cruise about on the occasional Sunday

So any idea which bits I'll need and from what cars etc.

Before you go buying anything, put a tape across the width of the auto box, they really are a lot wider than the 4 / 5 speed.

Nikki , Deno on here have an auto box but that is in a 2b which as you might be aware has a much wider tub than your S7.

Box, obviously, torque convertor and drive plate which replaces the flywheel, the wiring loom that controls the inhibitor switch, kick down change cable and throttle brackets and probably a new propshaft.

Sorry been in hiding and just read this...!

Blue if you want some pictures or information. Now is good time while my car is on axel stands and as per I & C comment's above...

It's a great for cruising, but a big heavy brute with a lot of custom cutting, grinding and welding to get it in place.

Mines a RH 2B with a pinto mated to C3 auto.

Plus points are:

No gearbox crunching when changing gear.

Driving becomes more relaxed and easy going on hot summer days.

No clutch, no clutch cable breakages and no aching leg when stuck in traffic.

Also provides a nice space in the pedal box department for resting your foot.

Oh...another nice feature I found, was that you can stand up and just hold the car on the foot brake whilst reversing into spaces and not worry about using the mirrors...
