A Slight Misunderstanding

Hi all,

I'd arranged with Keith, to meet up with the lads heading on the Scottish road trip on Saturday, I was going to head towards them till we met then spin round and tag along, I knew they were on the A1 so I assumed they were coming up to scotch corner and then across on the 66, Dan had broken down so they were delayed so I thought well might as well keep going and have a decent ride out, got to scotch corner, still no sign, texted Keith, we're 10 miles below Kendal was the reply, oh bugger, I thought, putting it mildly, they'd cut across lower down, fired the car up and with some spirited driving I was back across country pretty sharpish, pulled into the garage in Keswick to refuel and couldn't have timed it better, I'd just got filled up and the lads landed, I'd done 140 miles to get to a place I only live 20 miles from! It was good to meet everyone, putting a face to the names on here, covered a few miles in convoy, certainly turns heads, very enjoyable.

Next time I think I'll study the proposed route more closely.

Cheers Mark

"assumed" being the bit of the post that jumped out for me. We are unaware we are making an assumption at the moment of doing so. We all do it i think. Then realise later if at all.

Hmmmm.

(fit contemplation emoticon here)

(and another here)

:-) :o :-)

I couldn't think of a nicer place to do a detour by the way. And I'm glad you meet finally.

If you go back and read all the post they did say they intended to go over the Dales turning left from Richmond.
