Wat are the castelations for were the drive shafts enter the diff?

Adjusting the diff side bearings to set pinion /crown wheel engagement mick don.t mess with them !

designed for special tools, but adjustment procedure simple enough, just follow manual.

When I was still in the trade working for a Ford main dealer I went on a 4 day residential course on how to build and set up diffs.right down to being able to read meshing accuracy using engineers blue.

Very interesting but very in-depth and involved.

the thing is if you dont know what you are doing you shouldn't be doing it the adjustment is only needed if replacing brgs ,cwp etc not a normal job for home I have done a few in 53 years but cant say that I'm experienced and would not tackle it now mick

I have just stripped my diff and replaced the bearings, setting it up tomorrow, fingers crossed.
