Motorcraft Timing

Jason I bought one from powerspark in Bromsgrove. Mine is set at 12 degrees, gives 24 degrees of mechanical advance and is all in by 3500rpm. If the aldon one isnt all in until 4500 I would look elsewhere. When I had the car setup by Steve Walford he commented how good a unit it was.

The 3500 rpm is based on you saying you have an aftermarket cam. They need max advance lower down the rev range.

4500 may be right for a standard engine.

This guys knows what he is doing & has a section on modified ign. timing....

Also don't forget the effects of octane levels to pinking.

The first stages of pinking are not detectable by the human ear, but are still capable of burning out Pistons.
