Fuel Pump

Hi when I turn my ignition on the fuel pump is on.and stays on. Should it not shut off once it's got fuel pressure up?

If it's a Facet type it will just tick away all the time, mine gets quieter the longer it runs.

My Facet block type pump runs all the time.

Does it not cause a problem for the iva test? Will the examinationer not complain about it being on all the time?

Not if you ignition feed it.

For instance all the old smiths noisy thing ran as soon as ignition went on.

Only shut up for back pressure.

This is not a necessity with the facet types as you have a return line to tank.
