Hi. I am changing my rh2b from clamshell arches to cycle wings,i have bought mk indy wingstays and was just wondering if there was a easy way to bend stays to shape. Any help gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

Are these tubular like the Robin Hood Ones? If they are it will be hard to bend them without creasing them. I have some replacement ones to fit as one of my original ones broke but I keep looking around as I can't help but think there must be a better idea.

They are mk indy ones. Just flat metal to bend to fit tyre etc.

Ive seen on google pictures how some people have used wood as a spacer or forming tool along the top of the wheel to bend the metal strip to the correct form.

Stack up so me spacer blocks on top of the tyre (trial fit mudgaurd) to get the clearance you won't from the side profile. Then get bending with a good length of 2 * 1 (for leverage) between the tyre and wing stay. Keep moving the wood to develop a curve or angle as required untill the bracket touches the spacer block you stuck to the tyre. If the stays are too long trim them after bending so the wing sits flat to the bracket. Remember you can twist the flat bar as well wich helps a lot with final fitting. The old adage of the second attempt looks better doesn't apply, just make both sides look the same and it was meant to be. Ps. Try to keep the weld between the flat bar and tube straight, as this is the week point that will always braek first.
