got a pinto 2.0 efi in my 2b. idle jumps about from 1500 to 2000rpm. just fitted new idle control valve and no better. anyone know how to check the other sensors etc?

Have you checked all the vacuum hoses and inlet manifold gaskets? Sounds like an air leak.

Have good clean around the throttle butterfly with carb cleaner type stuff I usually find this stops mine hunting. If the throttle doesn't close properly the idle control can't keep up. To check the throttle position sensor you really need to use an oscilloscope as multi-meters tend to average the voltage or resistance, so you wont see an issue.

well i fixed it...being new to this car i didnt know the idle control valve was fitted upside down...... :crazy:
