Looking to fit the repeater indicators and wanted to know thoughts on which is more likely to make it through the IVA test, side panel, or in the side of the front arch?

Almost certainly the side-arch only. There was at least 1 person who failed IVA because the repeater was on the side panel (although not sure exactly where - might be a location where it is ok?).

Look in the IVA manual, there is a complicated looking diagram showing where it has to be visible from.

The the diagram mentions a degree angle (maybe 5 or 15), but the issue is the side panels are angled, which technically might throw off the visibility form certain points. Maybe the wheel arch can obscure it. The thing about it being in the wheel arch is what happens when the wheel is on full lock.

I think the requirment to be visible from behind the car is what finished off the side panel mountings.   If you are worried about visibility when the wheel is turned, why not mount them on the top of the wing ?
