I would say an oil catch tank but confused where that orange pipe goes as it seems to be heading of down into the depths - on my Zetec, the oil catch tank is fed from the rocker cover on top ofmthe engine and I would have thought a Pinto should be similar?

I did think oil catch tank but theres a copper 90° bend coming out the top with a rubber hose coming out leading to underneath the car,
