Exmo Alternator Alternative to ACR17

I was given a Robin Hood a couple of months back, the onlythign stopping it from being on the road is a lack of charging.

Pinto 2.0 

I replaced the Regulator and rectifier with no improvement. A "New" one gave no charge either. 

The space in the hood is tight a larger alternaor fouls the steering column. 

Anyone got an idea on an easy fit replacemtn that's the same or smaller size?

Cheers , there's a 40A similar on ebay for 80. Just the mounting would need working on.

A shorter v belt may solve your problem? Are you sure it’s the alternator or could it be wiring related?

Unless there is something mysticaly odd with the wiritng it's ok. Main feed is low resistance , battery fine, added extra resistance to the bulb to try and excite the alty a bit more. 

I have ordred more v-belts in a month than in 30 years trying to get a larger alternator to fit without fouling the steering shaft . Amazon have got a sniper on their ware house if I order any more..

wow back to it in the depths of winter.

Anyway , i circled arround  the problem of the standard large bosch alternator a few times , tried to make a braket to space it up out of old scrap box section etc. 

the a week back I thought "how much is it to 3D print in metal from china" the answer was quit a bit.. But then "how much is it to CNC from china" the answer was "well that's doable. 

So I moked up and 3D printed an adapter bracket , it's currently in production in china.
