How on earth do you keep the roof bars up?

My super spec came with this roof bar attachment and hood, which I presume is the original from Robin Hood but I can't for the life of me figure out how it stays up. 

The smaller bar goes into a velcro strap on the hood itself but the larger bar just seems to fall forwards. Maybe I am missing some attachment...

I had a different set up but I think the same theory would apply to yours. 

I had 2 velcro straps that went round the top of the roll bar and round the horizontal part of the hood frame - pull them as tight as you need to hold the frame in place and get the hood taut.  Luggage straps or similar would do the same job I think.

Yes, that's how the roof works on my SuperSpec.

Ah @alanrichey you have straps between the two bars. That’s what is missing in my case.
