  1. As above where have people mounted there could I was thinking of the engine side of passenger footwell end panel as my lead is long enough to reach the dizzy. Any other options that are better? Cheers
  2. Made some progress today managed to finish plumbing the fuel line inc a new pressure regulator install new distributor installed ht leads ( although figment at the spark plug end doesn't really work far too much rubber projector to actually let the internals contact the plug???) and connected the basics of the loom and turned the key and engine turned over so tomorrow's plan is wire in fuel pump install the coil its feed and connect to distributor and see if she will Fire.
  3. Fitting my new electronic ignition setup and attempting a first fire of a fully rebuilt pinto and bogg brothers r1 bike carbs
  4. Very common for the loom wires to fracture or brake as they pass from the car to the door in the corrugated rubber ducting although usually on much older cars than yours but still a possibility.
  5. Brilliant yeah it's all useless then as I already have r1 bike carbs fitted. Which dizzy /set up would you recommend?
  6. There is only 3 in the plug but there is a spade connection round to the left? And yes the black is thick with almost a blue coating in it then the copper
  7. So is that not a standard sierra item?
  8. As above im at the stage of the electrics, ive come somewhat unstuck with the ign module and dizzy wiring as all the diagrams i can find show a different module and a 2 wire dizzy. pictures are linked below (as i cant work out how to upload them as there massive) is what i have any help much appreciated. http://s1379.photobucket.com/user/mikehorsley/slideshow/Mobile%20Uploads

    Spot The Difference

Window wipers go from mounted on the left to the right.
  12. Yeah I've already had a mount welded to the tank for the earth strap :-)
  13. Fantastic just means I can keep it all neat and secure without looking a mess, not that you'll see it but if I'm gonna do a job it will be done right.
  14. I'm currently in the process of mounting my fuel tank in my 2b I have an larger than standard big brothers aluminum tank my plan is to have tabs welded on so I can bolt the tank direct to the chassis with rubber mounts (for reducing and major vibration) instead of going down the normal route of strips of stainless and rubber and it all looking messy. My question is will it pass an Iva with a bolted fuel tank instead of strapped cheers
  15. Fantastic that will do, I could see the bracket melting more than welding lol. Plus once painted I don't suppose you would really notice it.
  16. As above I need to make a little L bracket to support the rear flexi brake lines where they join the 5-6'' copper pipe to the T piece. Now instead of welding this to the tube could I rivet the bracket instead as its only a light support mount at the point of it changing to copper ????
  17. Fingers crossed yes. Enjoy your trip
  18. ^^^^ that sounds like its the same from laying it out I have those coloured wires in those locations for the items on the car, if you could send me the diagram that would be fantastic. Cheers
  19. The relay units are all made by ripaults unsure if any particular loom maker specifically uses these
  20. Even if you get to have a look at it as the ones I have found contain purple wires or wires with purple traces but there are non in my loom, Ill get signed up now job I've not got round to. Cheers mike
  21. Right well according to the previous owner he seems to think it is a vicky green loom, so if any one has any diagrams I could compare to that would be fantastic.
  22. There are no plugs on it just a fuse box and relay block, I've managed to find a vicky green diagram which shows traces or purple in the loom of which I don't so that rules that out. Although Im struggling to find any instructions for a premier wiring loom other than they didn't supply a diagram as such just a set of instructions on colour of wires = which item on the car, although a copy of that would be great
  23. Afternoon all I'm getting to the stage in my build where I want to start laying the loom into the vehicle but I have no diagrams or even knowledge of who made it as it came with the car that I purchased as a hardly even started project. I'm hoping someone will recognise the manufacturer then I can get some diagrams. Thanks mike
  24. Near malton so not far from you at all. Looks like I'm fabricating one then.
