    Exmo Vs SS 2B

Yeah you're confirming all my thoughts, ah well decisions, decisions, I suppose I could say stuff it & go buy a BMW R1200GS instead

    Exmo Vs SS 2B

Yes it's the same Exmo, the other is Fleecebay again to me there are for's & against each, the Exmo is registered but needs an engine/box & modification to get it to fit, the logical route is MX5 but that means getting another car to strip when parking space is very tight. Purchase £1900 (which I think is too much) £600 donor, MOT £40 + 10% £2750 But it can be put straight onto the road after an MOT, it has a screen & weather gear. The 2B is stainless steel which worries me as any chassis modifications are limited if needed, not worried about IVA other than the cost, £700 for test & inevitable retest. But it does have an engine fitted although it's the 1.8 which I didn't think was a particularly good one, is running just needs finishing, but doesn't have a screen, so presumably no heater, demister, wipers etc. also no weather gear, will need a full set of tyres. It sold for £1K last time, plus £700 test fees, £55 registration fees, hood £650, screen £200, wiper/demister £100 plus 10% £3000 The car will be road worthy/registered, but will be used for 2-3 track days a year, which is what I cannot do in the buggy, interested in why the Exmo will be quicker

    Exmo Vs SS 2B

Comparing a stainless steel 2B to an Exmo what's the pro's & con's over each car, there's currently an unregistered 2B which needs completing or a registered Exmo that needs an engine. Is a stainless steel chassis the problem that I think it might be, unable to modify it etc, but presumably it's a newer kit?

    Electric water pump

Me neither but that was what it seemed to be yesterday, although it may have been 3. But as currently I don't own a RH & there is a strong chance that after our Wales camping trip I'll be selling the Freestyle I'm not sure it'd be worth it for me, however if I can do a deal on the Exmo that might be a different story

I would give you my reply but can't due to the restrictions

    Electric water pump

So I have to decide to reply to this post, or wait to see if there is a more appropriate response required later in the day, decisions, decisions

    Electric water pump

Sorry couldn't reply yesterday it looks like I can only make 2 posts a day, presumably a anti-spammer measure. But in answer to your question, TBH not 100% sure, it worked for him, if you placed the pump on a lay-by (as you call it) on the flow into the block then surely it will only draw the cooler fluid from outside the engine through the hotter engine & out the other side. Mine is on the heater circuit this was for convenience, but also being in that circuit the flow is not interrupted by the thermostat.

    Electric water pump

Have a friend with an A series who had issues after a blast then stopping the engine would boil on heat soak, he didn't want to put the electric pump in the normal pipes in case they restrict the flow so he put 2x tees in into the circuit & put the pump on the branched tee.
  9. Thanks Guys, I think I'll go look tomorrow night, not too far away, I wasn't going to entertain it if it was a SVA/IVA dodger, I think he's being a little optimistic with the price, but I am a natural Yorkshireman.

    Electric water pump

I have exactly this on my K-Series buggy, it's the auxiliary water pump off an Audi-TT like this one Fleecebay it's on a bought adjustable time board which when the ignition switches off makes the pump run for 5 minutes, the only issue I had was the timer worked the wrong way around & made on power off, I just added an extra relay. On the K-Series there is a pipe with a 90 bend just under the senders, all I did was cut the 90 off & join each side of the pump. But whether it will do what the OP wants not too sure 19mm hose just fits nicely
  11. Thank you are there any other giveaways, to ensure it is what it claims to be, do RH chassis numbers start in a specific way or stamped in a specific location?
  12. Guys, Just sold my Formula 27 & now looking for another kit, saw this one on Fleecebay which ticks my boxes as no engine/box & needing some work, but the front suspension doesn't look like Exmo if I compare it with another for sale, along with the article about the bracket cracking, has it been modified or had a V5C swap? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Robin-Hood-7-Exmo-wide-body-kit-car-like-Westfield-dax-locust-7-track-race-road/183870508231 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Not-Westfield-Not-Caterham-Robin-Hood-Lotus-7-replica/352705916953

    Rear Engine

That looks awesome, I wonder where the plans for it are now.

    Rear Engine

Handbrake is perfect, not sure what the K3's used as they were Metro front subframes on the rear, when the Freestyles did that with the Mini's front drums the handbrake was not good, but this uses a MGF rear subframe, suspension & the calipers so rear brakes & handbrake is very good. Surprised you did mention that the battery must be knackered as well seeing that there are jump leads in the image.

    Rear Engine

I have no problem with the engine back there
  16. They are available off Fleecebay not a lot of money
  17. Depends what you call cheap, everybody's view is different, I have a Formula 27 with an Alpha Romeo 2L engine, 12 months MOT needs a little tidying looking for around £3500
