I am looking at the wiring loom for the 2b and the new loom seems to make sense. It looks like I need to take some things from the old loom so that the 2.0 pinto (carburettor) ESC module has its own circuit for the engine. I don't fully understand what this module is for other than is seems to do something with the distributor. Does anyone have a list of the stuff it must connect to for the engine to work?
Thanks for the information. I was considering making a stainless steel pipe and getting it welded to the tank as opposed to bolting it. Will have to consider the options.
Ok. So the part originally came from the donor car? How is this fitted, looks like the main grommet is pushed in, then the o ring is pushed in to the gap to take up the slack, then push the pipe in?
I am looking for a way to seal where the filler pipe enters the original 2b fuel tank. The previous owner seems to have destroyed the rubber that was there when trying to install.
Anyone know where I can get a replacement or an alternative?
I have picked up the VW polo radiator. It doesn't have a cap. Any recommendations on a header tank to use and how it's plumbed in? I assume the plastic tanks with a screw on cap still have a pressure relief valve in the cap?
Hello, I am building a 2b with a 2 litre pinto engine. Struggling to find a radiator that fits. Please can anyone provide links to recommendations? I have seen people mention VW polo and civic radiators, any specific details on model and where to get them?
Thanks for the information. In terms of photos for the IVA, as far as I can see the tunnel is the only part that has hidden stuff. Everything else looks like it will be viewable from either under the car or with the bonnet open. Is there any other specific areas you can think of that I should take care to photograph for evidence?
Can anyone confirm the best route for the rear brake line. I have mine coming from the rear following the frame in the tunnel, but am not sure where to route it past the gear box in to the engine bay. Can it be clipped to the floor or tunnel side panels and still pass IVA or is there a better solution?
Can anyone confirm if the fuel tank supplied with the 2b kit still passes the IVA test ok? I don't seem to have a certificate for it to prove its specification.
Please can someone with a 2b that has the double wishbone suspension measure the front flexible brakes lines and let me know the length? Are they Sierra original lines? Where on the body do these enter the engine bay? I need to drill a hole and it would be great to get it right first time. Any pictures would be appreciated.
