The roadworks around the Red Lion have now extended and two roads (B6463) / Kiveton Lane to the Red Lion crossroads are now closed. Access is via the A57 only.

I'm away all week so will not make it on Wednesday. I once had a shiny engine crane, I wonder what happened to it :-).

If it's the same as the black streaks that caravans get you could try a proprietary "Black Streak Remover", available from caravan accessory shops.

A B+E licence is required for an outfit (car + trailer) weighing more than 3500kg. All of us who passed our test prior to 1997 were granted B+E automatically. Newer drivers must take an extra test. All of us can tow a trailer on a B licence providing the outfit is below 3500kg. The permissible weight of trailer is also dependent on whether it is braked or unbraked.

It is also important to note that the weight of the trailer is not the actual weight but the MPTLM, the maximum permitted technical laden mass. This is shown on the trailers plate.

Sorry folks but I took one look at the deep mud at the entrance and bailed out. Even if I managed to get in, there was no way we would get out. Hope you have a good time despite the weather.

I've had the Aldon Ignitor on my 2b for the last 2 and a half years with no problems at all. Done around 10,000 miles in that time. It's easy to install, easy to set up and gave me much more reliable tickover and smoother running compared to the points.

I tried the same technique and was disappointed with the results. I've since repacked the Robin Hood silencer with a product called Acoustafil. The website is found here:- http://www.saveguard.com/exhausts/acoustafil2.htm

You will find it on EBay. So far I'm quite pleased with the result for such a low cost option, although a decent silencer is the real solution.

Hi Phil,

I had the same issue and ended up grinding the plug to a square section and used a good fitting spanner. I had trouble finding a new plug but found that Caterham sell them, at a price!

I won't be there this month. We're off to North Yorkshire and Northumberland with the 2B and trailer tent.

The "Lincoln" autojumble is to be held at Hemswell. They've only been running for a short time, I don't know whether they are worth a visit.

I'll be there for Saturday, won't be staying over.
