  1. Hi guy's First of all thanks to all that turned up, and the offer is always open to use the workshop if required. Loads of munchies left for me next week HaaaHaaa! Steve / Chris I don't think It should be classed as a failure (after looking behind the dash you did well to get them working at all). Tony as the lads have said maybe try an up rated fuse, but I would only go up one size. If you want to go to fitting separate fuses I may well have a fuse box at work spare. If it gets to the re wiring stage why not go for a seperate gauge panel that can be removed without taking the dash off we could make it to cover the area now used? Good to see you all Steve

  7. Hi all I'm starting this new thread (a good sugestion from Chris27) as the invite to help tony is burried in another thread and may have been missed:- Hi Tony, Sorry I could not make the NE meeting but if it is any help I will be at the works factory unit on Sat the 4th if you want to fetch your car up, (I plan to be tinkering with my ss) I am no expert in electrics but have been known to change the odd light bulb. I plan to have the car lift set up so if any of the other NE hoods want to come and play, exchange ideas, help each other out, all welcolme, the workshop should hold 4-5 cars at a time so plenty of room, plenty of tools air, power, welder, socket sets, axle stands etc, etc. and plenty of electrical cable, crimps etc. The unit is near stanley, any one interested give me a shout. Steve PS plenty of tea BUT BRING YOUR OWN BLOODY HOB NOBS LOL Plenty of clear polycarb for wind deflectors as well Note to self must buy more cups Steve

    Leaking Oil

I have my old deep sump and pick up pipe if it is any good to you. I see no reason the sump could not be shortend, the pick up pipe can because thats what I had to do when I changed the sump out. maybe you could do a metal filler type repair on your existing sump to get you away while you source a short sump or mod one. On a more happy note changing the sump is childs play compared to the pinto. My old sump has a few battle scares but is still sound I was just keeping it as a spare, but hey how many spares can you keep. From what i was told when i got my 420 sump they were becoming like rocky horse sh*te but you never Know Steve

    Leaking Oil

Hi the deep sump was from a rover 820, the short sump was a rover 420 item this gives about 20mm more road clearence, the rover superspecs came with both types but my choice is the 420 sump, if u are changing to a shorter sump u will need the pick up pipe as well. HTH Steve
