  1. Hi Has any one got info on the Ford DOHC (Injection) ie Power output, what carbs can one fit, is it a viable engine change for a 2b (20 lt pinto at the moment) Any info welcome Cheers Kevin
  2. Hi Jonathan, On the subject of putting the clutch to the floor to get into gear, Big Jim managed to find out that there are three quadrants available - 45, 50 & 55 (What is yours?). The higher you go the more clutch cable travel you get, which will help the clutch clear. Alternatively, you can do away with the quadrant, modify the pedal and fit an adjustable cable as fitted to escort mk 2 / capri, I think. Hope this helps. Cheers Kevin

Paul I do not follow your statement (I have changed the fuel return valve for one off a DGAV that was running ok) You should have the return from the carb gone back to the tank as when crusing the fuel pump will supply more fuel than required, and needs to be dumped back to the tank or it my flood the carb (run rich) under these drving condition. Kevin ps will still get jet sizes if req.

Mr T I have a 38 DGAS carb myself fitted to a 2L Pinto with a Kent FR30 You have not said whether its a standard 2L? I dont seem to have any running problems, not sure what jets are in it, if you really want me to I could strip it down and get the sizes for you? Have you checked that the fuel return is working correctly? Cheers Kevin
  8. Hi Jez My email Klp56@tiscali.co.uk Cheers Kevin
  9. With the car sat at its normal ride hight, measure the amount of crome shaft showing on the shocker this will be the total travel. transfer this measurment to shaft in line with the shocker (keep in mined the shaft travel in an arc, more the further away from the diff you go) so the max travel of the shaft is at the wheel end this will be more than your measurment.

    Cam Timing

2L Pinto SOHC with a Kent FR30 camshaft and adjustable camshaft gear with no marks  The cam belt needs replacing. I have the timing disk but no instructions on how to set up the gears and adjust the top camshaft gear. I also need 2 Cones & 2 Allen key bolts 5/16 UNF thread 7/32 Allen key for the Camshaft gear, please see picture attached. Can anyone help? Kevin
  11. Don't be fooled by the fact it goes quiet for a few mile, it's the fact that the cars been jacked up and takes a few miles to settle back to the worn position. If you have done the ns, done what inner / outter cv? shaft ? if all it got to be the other side. Find a car park and go round on both locks, listen carfully, take a bit of lock off / on you should be able to pin point the offending side.
  12. Some time ago i used to use a small 3/8 drive torque wrench made by Britool and a torque screw driver. But as most have commented just nipped up will be fine.
