All, Smallways weekend Right date confirmed for the Yorrkshire Area event of the season For anyone that hasn't been, this is an event I organise. It consists of a fantastic pub in the country where we camp over Fri and Sat just behind the pub. Usually an excellent run out on Saturday, Time - Friday and Sat 22nd and 23rd JUNE . (Arriving to camp anytime PM on Friday 22nd). I have now confirmed date with Landlord. I have yet to book the glorious sunshine we had last year, but will try and organise that too. I haven't sorted the run out on the Saturday yet (Well to be honest the wife hasn't sorted the run out yet ) so any suggestions let me know. We have set off in most directions in recent years. Will try and get some maps printed out this year. Details: Location - Smallways Country Inn, just off the A66 at Newsham, about 7 miles from Scotch Corner. (A1) Map here Cost - Nowt - Will be beer to be drunk though !!!!! Facilities - Excellent country pub serving good food. Toilet and washing facilities. Stuff to do - Your own thing, tyre kick whatever. There is beer!!! There is a motel next door for anyone not wanting to brave the open air !!! Search for the A66 motel Please tell me if you want to come - Just PM me or reply to this thread so I can get a feel for numbers. There should be no restriction on Camping pitches and all are welcome . I'll post up those confirmed here. Travelodge have a winter sale Stopping over on Wed night before Le Mans if anyone else is going all way down on the Thursday in one day. I will be sorting return hotel out in next week or so Chris. Need to make sure fairly decent parking. May end up in the one we normally stop at as some of the f1's parking is a bit iffy and most in Dunkerque are still about 16 miles away from port.. Yes I agree with all but my philosophy is if it aint broke I appreciate the marginal extra flow through the lump to try and keep it cool. But if you are planing with new engine etc. leave it it and ensure rad is suited to cooling it.

I have run for last 5 years without one - just to stir thing sup a bit... Car needs cooling as gets very hot under bonnet so i left it out - It gets warm v quick anyway ...

I'm along here to confirm details - what the others said - Daz come along to meeting as above - We don't bite. PS RE other thread - I don't think you willbe able to use the Rover box. Will need a sierra type 9 with adapter plate or a rover 2wd box to mate to lump. Baz should be able to tell you more. He has a beefed up type 9 in his. Welcome.

Mitch - any news on a run out before the New Year????

I'm going on 04th July travelling down to Staffordshire on evening of 03rd to collect my old man. Then travel to Dover leisurely during 04th. Then on the 05th 8.01AM ferry to Dunkerque arrives at 11AM in France. Then bit more frantic long drive to Lemans. Returning back on 10th like Sir Chris from Dunkerque again. Need to book overnighters yet if there are any suggestions? There are 3 of us travelling down. Anyone is welcome to tag along and pick us up on the way. Cheers Lee

Yorkie - see if you can come along to the West Yorks area meeting tomorrow night. Baz will be there although not sure his v8 hood will be. Airedale Heifer, Bradford Rd, Sandbeds, Keighley, BD20 5LY at 8.00 pm ish. I'm hoping to come in mine... But it's only a lowly old V6.

Stale fuel i'm guessing. Get some fresh stuff in. Also check choke it fully on. Block air entry into carbs from stone cold and enrichen mixture. - see if it improves.

Glad you all enjoyed it. I will be a bit slicker at the route planning next year and dish out some routes. I will tray and book the weather again for next year. My bloody neck is a bit red today !!!!! Thanks to everyone that turned up - Sorry I departed a bit early on Sat night. Hope the headaches weren't too bad Sunday. I never managed to find a road on the way home with a gate across it !!!!!! Must try harder. All the best. Lee

Well its on for this weekend. Mike details are sketchy. That's the way I organise stuff.. Tip up on Friday PM to the pub - Address and map link above. Fri night is normally spent in the pub - meal and a few sherbets... Sat there is a run organised. The wife has selected about 5 routes but open to suggestions. It makes it all the more mysterious... Yet to select final route. We always say away for 10 am on Sat for those that want to come for a run out. But invariably that means 10.30. We also say please can everyone fill up with go go juice but that means someone wont so it will be a stop at a petrol station before we get underway. Run round Sat most of the day aiming to be back for approx 4 to 5pm. This gives time for the ladies to get ready for the evening !!!! And then more pub/meal/sherbets. Sunday is normally disperse whenever you get up.... Camping is free behind the pub. Should be enough room but there are lot turning up this year. We have tried fully organised BBQ's etc. and it just seems better this way. If you want to go off and try another establishment feel free its very much do your own thing. The landlord is giving us free camping so we usually repay the favour by spending a few bob in his pub. Everyone welcome. Trust this is enough info. Anyone can come Can come Fri, Sat for run out or Sat evening for a beer. How accommodating is that!!! See you all Friday night boys and girls. Cheers Lee.
