Headlights For 2B

Hi All,

just a quick post as to what headlights people are fitting to their 2B. My kit was supplied with chrome 7" bowls and sealed beam units. I have recently purchased new lamp units which have a sidelight and take H4 bulbs.

On looking at the unit I now feel they are a little too large for my liking.

 

what are you fitting?

Ours has 5 3/4" in black, quality of the paint is poor and wish we had gone for the carbon lookalike ones now.

I've got the same as Ian above - but the finish on mine seems ok. Quite happy with them:-

5 inch chromed. but they look a bit old now. so maybe refurb needed

5 3/4" chrome on brass from SVC are what I fitted and found them to be very good except for the side light bulb holders which I changed for better ones.

That settles it then think I will look for a set of 5.75 headlights and get my set on ebay

Anyone know if you have to have the headlights a certain height? Doing the wishbone conversion and thinking of lowering them a tad..

Yes, need to be betwenn 500 and 1200mm from the ground.

Obviously that's for IVA, if you're already on the road then it's probably not that much of an issue.

This is my head lamp mount after wish bone conversion.

Ignore the highly wound up spring, had to go up 50 lb from original thoughts, to 350 lb.

No IVA to worry about, just wondered whether i'd get done at the MOT station. Very tidy job of the wishbone conv! Picked all my bits up from GBS yesterday, painted last night. Any advice and tips welcome! :-)
