Megajolt On A Pinto

Similar set up on mine, however Nigels has a couple of advantages, trigger wheel on inside of crank pully so no need to remove VR sensor to replace belt and VR sensor in a higher and safer location. Mine is as low as the sump at the front left and i had to cut a bit of engine bay floor out otherwise the sensor would hit the floor when the engine vibrates.

The mounting plate uses variouse bolts on the ancilaries and some welded and tapped bushes on the front off the sump.

If i had to do it again i think i would copy Nigels ideas .

This could be a good time to get a map Wiki going.

This is how I did mine:

Nigel.

so that picks up the bolts on the bottom alloy casting ??

if so i will have to pull my spare block out a bit further from under its associated junk and remove said casting to make a pattern

unless you have a drawing of the main bit of the bracket ?

i will have to make mine a bit different as my wheel is going on the outside, but shouldnt be too hard

like the coil pack mount too, i was wondering where i was gonna put that

Dave,

The left hand bolt is the one that holds the cam belt cover on. The right hand bolt holds the casing on, I used a longer bolt with a length of metal tube as a spacer.

I do have a template of the bracket, I could scan it and e-mail it to you if it would help.

Nigel,

Can I be cheeky and add my name to the list please? Or you could put it on the Wiki and save yourself being pestered.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks

Eric

got my bracket from laser man this week

top job :D , looks like it will fit ok...

just need to borrow a single fan belt pully from somewhere now, so i can make the rest of it

my spare engine has a double pulley, which dont help with measurments

Hi, found this excellent site while trying to find info about how o fit megajolt to my Pinto. I bought the megajolt kit a year ago so it's time to do it!

Nigel, is it possible to get a copy of your template? It looks really good.

Kind regards

Tomas, Sweden
