Propshaft Splines

How many splines are there on the 5 speed type 9 gearbox output shaft? I'm sure someone will know.

I thought 23,

confirmed at 23 splines

the earlier ford boxes had 20

isnt the 23/20 figure on the input shaft ie into the clutch plate?

 

Just going to count the splines on the spare prop....

yeh thought so....the front of the prop shaft that fits into the rear of a 5 sp type 9 box has 25 splines (so the gearbox has 25 grooves).

Bob, many thanks, it was -4 here at about 8 o'clock, I was hoping it was 25. Now trying to remember if I have got any antifreeze in the Hood
