Ive got a dolamite based S7 that still has the original dolamite axle in. Im buying a sierra for the engine and box but was wondering whether it is possible to update the rear suspension with the sierra setup easily?

Thanks

Live rear axle is in tune with the original seven ethos. As long as you have good fore and aft location and an effective means of lateral location by Panhard rod or Watts linkage I would expect the car to be well behaved. The chances are that the car will be able to perform as well as you can.

a good live axle setup has a more controllable slide, but it is less predictable as it gets upset by bumps (and it's easy to learn how to control a slide if you go sideways all of the time).

a good independent setup will be better over the bumps and have higher ultimate grip at the expense of possibly being more skittish, and more complicated (but all down to setup).

Independent for bumpy road use, live axle for the track, in my opinion
