Unusually I can't find any sierra quadrants on ebay at the mo. To be honest thought they are not that rare an item. I can buy them at my local autofactors. You need one which is a full half circle rather than a 'quadrant' - mine is a 50mm and they come in various colours.

You may find that even the 55mm one won’t be big enough try this (picture) it works well and by changing the thickness of the material you can adjust it to exactly how you want it

Hi Chris,

Met you at the show yesterday (helped you clip your clutch cable back on!). You gave me some food for thought regarding the clutch pawl as I am also having problems with engaging reverse. I'll let you know how it goes. Simple ideas are always the best!

Thanks for the useful tips...

regards

Terry :D

The 55mm you want isn't listed as a Sierra or Granada.. that's the 50mm one. It's listed as a Fiesta quadrant, from about 86 or 89 from memory.

Take your 45mm one to compare, you'll easy see the difference.

55mm wasn't big enough on my black one so I did Chris's mod, was fine for my previous one though.

Great mod Chris.

I had the same problem with the clutch not releasing.

Took me about 10 mins instead of hours getting the pedal box off, hunting for a new quadrant etc.

Just hope it works now!! It was too late to fire it up last night & stay on speaking terms with the neighbors.

As far as i can see that one looks the same as the one i bought a while back , price good too .

Mike

It is a good price because there should be a pawl and pawl spring with it as well. Its ok buying just the quadrant providing your pawl is in good condition and is the same pitch as the new quadrant - don’t assume it will be, there are different ones on the pattern market.

You want a clutch pawl for a 1986 Ford Fiesta that's the 55mm one.... Granada 55mm is wrong. The other one under granada/sierra is a 50mm.

Not sure of the part number any more but I have posted it before. (if my memory is shot... it might be a 1989 but it's defo one of the two).

This should do it.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Escort-90-95-Fiesta-...p3286.m20.l1116

Seems like there is a 58mm as well, not seen that one before!

You can get bigger than 58mm with Chris's mod.... I have about 4mm of ally on top of the pawl diameter to get mine working well. I smoothed the ends so it's a bit easier on the cable, no sharp edges etc.
