Hi everyone.

I been searching in the forum to see if I can get any info on this.

I would like to install EFI to my 2 lite cosworth engine that is in my R/H S7. Its running twin dellortos 45's now and from previous experience on this carbs they are pig's to keep them tuned every time.

Has anyone done this conversion? Any advise? Parts I will need etc?

Any advise will be great.

Thanks in advance. B)

This is probably not much help--I'm converting a 1.8CVH to EFI--using 1600 Escort complete inlet & electrics--so far have only made-up an adaptor plate in 6mm ally--blue-printed it to head & cut & filed then blue-printed other side of plate to manifold--cut,filed etc. & new gaskets cut--have a mate coming over Weds. to start the tech stuff, will post more if you're interested. PS Not going for more power only looking for reliability!!

Personaly I would use an aftermarket ECU. Megajolt for cheapness or Omex/Emerald for ease. These give you full flexibility to get fuelling and ignition matched to your engine on a rolling road.

Electric hardware needed is an ECU, engine loom, sensors for air temp, water temp, crank position, MAP or throttle pot and a loom to tie it all together as well as fire the injectors and wasted spark coil. Add in a couple of relays and fuses to operate and protect ECU and the fuel pumps

Fueling hardware is a high pressure fuel pump, manifold, fuel rail, regulator, tank return and some injectors. You may also need a low pressure lift pump and swirlpot.

There are probably some bits I have missed but that's the basics.

Thanks for your reply fellas....good advice.

I will be looking around to get all the stuff together very soon. I know a fiesta 1.25 efi that has failed the mot for bodywork and suspension so the customer wants to scrap the vehicle. If i dint had the cossie in the s7 I would been very tempted to plant that one in.

Anything I can have from that vehicle's EFI system to use on mine? Engine loom etc as been mentioned above?

Thanks chaps....keep it coming.

This is a much tweaked cosworth, with Jenvey throttle bodies, emerald ecu. The cosworth needs quite a bit of work to run N/A as the ports are a bit small and compression ratio too low and I suspect the cams need changing. You may find some info on this site url="http://hometown.aol.com/DVAndrews/"]Daves[/url] ifyou just want to keep it simple how about replacing the existing carbs with bike ones?

Thanks everyone for your replys.

Bike carbs? Hmmmm that sounds very good. What will the advandages be running bike carbs? And do you know what bike carbs would best be for that engine?
