Spare Wheel Mount

Sorry if this has been ask loads of times.

I want to chop of the spare wheel hoop, but only if it is not stuctural or do I have to strengthen some other way after removing.

Mine was chopped off the 2b when I got it, as far as I can see the only mod is 2 rubber bungs in the tubes

i saw one at exeter this year that had chopped it at an angle and i think welded a plate over the holes. You couldn't see the ends without bending down to look, which i did as i wondered what they had done to make it so discreet

No it isn’t structural but it makes a good bumper and when you think your fuel tank is almost the first thing to get hit if you are unlucky enough to be rear ended. I think leaving it on is a good move. It’s also a good base for a luggage rack (camping at shows and Hoodie weekends etc) even if you don’t fit a spare wheel.

cut off the hoop on the superspec and moved in forward..
