What’s In Your Car Tool Kit / Do You Have One?

Hi

Now I’m on the road I should probably think about keeping some kind of basic tool kit in the car – just in case!!

I was wondering if everyone else has a tool kit and what it includes… I guess since most of us have a spare wheel on then a jack & wheel spanner must be common?! What other ‘must haves’ do you include in your car took kit?

How many of you don’t bother with a tool kit / jack? Given (on some RHs) it’s difficult to lock the jack away, it would be relatively easy for someone to use your jack to jack up the car and nick the wheels – so maybe a reason for not bothering with a jack?!

Interested to hear what your thoughts are...

Cheers

if you have built a zero you will need a can of tyre repair stuff as theres no spare.ive used a can of this many years ago in a motorbike tyre and it was useless and the ats man hated the stuff when i got it to them for the repair.

I have a cylindrical cardboard for a bottle of wine which is my tool box.

In that I cram some screwdrivers, pliers, cable ties, elastic bungee, electric tape and rag. I also tend to carry a small Draper socker set circa 1872 and some gaffer tape.

Basically, everything you need for a full rebuild as was proved at the recent Goodwood festival when I burnt out the wiring loom in Milford. Took about 2.5 hours to split out all the burnt wires, strip and reinsulate the loom. Had to call the AA for some fuses though as wasn't going to risk bodging them if a fault still remained :D
