Home Made Fuel Gauge

Hi all,

I recently saw a post detailing a wiring diagram for a fuel gauge using lots of LED's but now can't find it!

Any body know where it is?

Many thanks,

Michael.

Looking at the wiring diagram it appears that the fuel level reostat is connected only across the ends thus giving a fixed value that will not be altered by fuel level. Doesn't a lead need to be taken from the moving contact aswell/instead of? Electronics are just black boxes to me but this set-up doesn't seem to measuring anything.

all the senders i have taken apart, have been 2 wire devices, where the wiper is also connected to one end of the resistance track, and shorts it out as it moves....

if it fails, or falls off, it goes to full resistance, instead of leaving a possibly live wire swinging about in the tank
