ZeroKnowledge

Recommended Posts

dropped a screwdriver bounced off front of engine and hit the rad.

thought i had got away with it but water started to trickle out :(

After checking the price for a replacment coolman rad £80 :shok:

I have decided to use a polo rad and expansion tank.

Anybody know the rad part no?

Hi Steve

never tried fixing a rad before,

checked the web for info & it looks easy enough

need to check the size of the hole.

Is the polo rad like this

Might be worth checking out any local radiator service or repairers. Mine had a leak on a while ago and I luckily have a repair centre about 2 miles down the road. £15 all in and been fine for 2 years.

Cheers

I design radiators for f1 cars. when we make them alot of the time they leak and have to repair them, we do this either with resin or torch brazing.

Find an apoxy resin that can stand high temps and make a plug on the one side of the leak

When that is dry turn it over and then pour it threw to the bung

Sorry for a poor explanation ring me on 07900077238 if you need any more help
