Do people build the boots before the IVA or After ??? sorry newbie builder here :)

up to you, but you will have to cover the top whatever, and thats the hardest part, so you may as well make it with a boot lid first time round, instead of doing jobs twice

Im building the boot before IVA so that i can make to most out of the car and not take it off the road in 6 months time and start another project. There are loads of people with different ideas for building the boots, iv got plenty of pics if you need an help.

Build the boot;then your car can even be used for the weekly shop;just brought a large trolley full home from Salisbury. Makes a chore more bearable given this sunny weather.

Boot is entire area from seat-back to rear panel,mudguard to mudguard & spare wheel hoop to boot lid less only the petrol tank.

I didn't for when mine went for SVA but I would take the word of those who've done the more recent IVA. Still haven't got around to fitting the boot yet :blush: mainly because it has always been the fun car.

i would say build the boot section whilst the back panal is off , it makes sence to me ,then enclose it.

its easier when you have acess than after when there is none .

if you build the boot, you will have to;

fully enclose the fuel tank & filler pipe

take a photograph of the earth strap

ditto for any wiring that may be questioned

I will be putting a solid cover over the whole back end with the filler mounted flush and let the Inspector stick his head up from underneath.

All the panels to fill the boot will go in afterwards.
