Exhaust Packing

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a standard Robin Hood exhaust, which I modified so I could pack the silencer to try and quieten it down. Having achieved nothing, I think I packed it too tight, I really did ram the wadding in to the front and rear chamber.

Please can anyone tell me how much wadding to use and any other permanent ways to quieten the standard Robin Hood exhaust?

Thanx & Cheers

Nige

I tried the same technique and was disappointed with the results. I've since repacked the Robin Hood silencer with a product called Acoustafil. The website is found here:- http://www.saveguard.com/exhausts/acoustafil2.htm

You will find it on EBay. So far I'm quite pleased with the result for such a low cost option, although a decent silencer is the real solution.

Cheers, Graham
