Oh, yes. There have been many helpful suggestions which I shall be exploring when I get the new bonnet.

 

The car obviously had a huff about my prior attempt to polish out some stains and finally threw the dummy out ...

 

(I'm getting to think my car definitely has a stroppy personality - and a bladder problem ... )

happened to me - now use r clips on the front catches

good reminder for me to add an extra clip. was thinking of adding one under the centre of the nose cone so i clip that in and then do the 4 side clips. If 1 then fails the centre still stops it lifting. Was going to use the sierra bonnet pull and make a mechanism to lock the bonnet down. even as simple as a piece of bar with a hole in it that a pin goes through that is pushed and pulled to open and close with the bonnet pull.

 

I have driven down the road with a clip loose before now

just seen one called aerocatch not cheap but look good qaulity and very good for a fastener

I've seen the Aerocatch ones on another car. They do look good but not sure how they would fit on mine though. I'll have to think of some way of making a locking latch (preferably one where the key can't be removed if it's not secured
