Steering Rack Rebuild Kit?

Finally have my spare manual rack apart ready to fit the quick rack internals.

Found the pinion bearing is shot, the pinion seal shot, and the tension saddle worn.

May as well do the job properly but where can I get a rebuild kit or the parts?

Car builder solutions ? , if you have a good 1 Ford agent localy, 2 a good parts agent , 3 Burton these come to mind may be more mick [ mower man]

i wondered the same and failed. Bought a recon rack for £30 and fitted my new internals to that.

Where did you the recon from

my local motor factors, andrew page. There was a £15 surcharge on the old rack.

Just got a phonecall from a supplier, he has offered a recon for £42 + vat + delivery

I can get some parts seperately for £20 but not the saddle

Looks like I will buy a recon one and rebuild it with my parts

They need the old one back and looking at it, there welcome

I have a recon. unused standard Sierra rack.

Yours for £30 if you collect....

why not try andrew page in chelmsford? seems reasonable kit, the bearing was uk made.

I know its far from you but just had my rack rebuilt by JayGee of Bilston West Midlands as the end bearing was shot and the track rod spherical bearings were loose. 24 hour turn round and £24 +VAT. He may have the parts you need.

should be able to get one of those at any old bearing supplier, i would have thought
