Bike Carb Problems

hi guys,

 

got some bike carbs fitted to my 2ltr pinto, it will start and tick over (although very lumpy) and as soon as i press the accelerator it cuts out...

 

has anyone got any ideas?

Its a new fitment.. bought them off someone who bought em off someone else, don't know about the jets, how can you tell? And can you buy the sets?

Bike carbs often have a choke

Usually a slide arrangments operated with a cable from the rear left of the carb set

Sounds like your getting it to fire but not warming up with choke

 

What carbs are they?

Thanks for that.... sounds a bit technical for me. Just found out bogg brothers aint far from me, so I think a trip there is in order....

I went to Bogg brothers last year on the way to Newark the old boy knows what he's doing he will drill out the main jets to the right size and balance them for you think it cost me £80

two things, pull the choke on will it rev?

 

as a general rule, with a mild cam you could drill the main jets to 150 (1.5mm) drill bit then try again, it will still need to go on the dyno to sort the dizzy timing unless you have a timing light and they will need to balanced.

 

done a couple and this got me to the rollers ok ;)
