Hi , I've been offers an almost finished sub k , has all the wiring done and most of the body work . Has just had a full engine rebuild with a race cam and exhaust , the asking price is £1500 . However it's still a siera on the v5 , do I need a iva ? Or can it go through an sva ? And what's the rough price of this . Can't find a straight answer on the web

Hi

there in no SVA any more...it was replaced by the IVA some time back.

It sounds like it will need to go through the IVA, but the sub K can pass it if its a good build, and

meets all IVA requirements.

Search for IVA Manual..

An amateur build is class A...ie £450

Thanks for the info .What would it be worth if I done it properly and registerd it? Or would I be better off using it on a track ? I new to robin hoods and don't know what's a fair price for a 3/4 done one is .

No easy answer to that...it depends on how well it has been built & the quality

of fittings eg seats, recon engine, dash gauges, wheels, tyres etc.

You will have loadsa fun on road or track.

I'd say £1500 is a fair price if its been well done so far.

Do you know what the price was of the sub k lot originally ?

The answer to your question is in the name of the car .

The basic kit was just under 1K IIRC it was something like £996.00

Yes it could be converted, but it's quite a lot of work. If you've still got to get it through IVA then my advise would be to stick with the currunt suspension and concentrate on getting it on the road.

They'll be more than enough jobs to keep you busy as it is, without adding to them. One of the reasons so many car end up unfinished is people forget how much is involved and then loose interest. If you minimise the work required to get the car on the road, the experience of driving it might spur you into a suspension change as a later winter upgrade.

Just been looking at the chassis . Some places it looks like it could do with more bracing and strengthening , has anyone ever done this and witch areas should I concentrate on ?
