Track Control Arm Ball Joint Thread Type

As above. Does anyone know what thread is on the ball joint of the track control arm, Sierra type. I can't see to find a nyloc nut to fit in my spares

Not sure of size but I believe it's metric FINE thread which is why normal nylocs don't fit.

I think there m10 x1mm pitch thread seem to remember buying a couple of spares a few yrs ago.

Not an answer but --- can you measure the threads per inch & the major diameter --- I can then look it up in thread charts --- or are there thread charts on Google?? If thinking it is metric -- divide number of threads/inch by 25. 4 to give the pitch, & included angle of thread crest should look to be 60 degrees ( equilateral triangle)

I will try that when I get a chance tomorrow but I have ordered a selection of nyloc nuts in all sizes and threads so that I am never stuck with a car in pieces for the sake of a nut!

I bought a load of nylocs / bolts washers etc.

 

None of them fit the track rod ends though. The most common is the Metric Coarse thread and I think the TRE is metric fine.

Buy a metric thread gauge for 3.40 on eBay, find the pitch of the thread, and the overall diameter, have a look on the metric thread charts and see what matches up.

Yes it's a fine pitch. Just replaced mine.
