Throttle Linkage/cable

Need some help on deciding which linkage and then what cable to use with that linkage. Setup is this:

Pinto

Weber 32/36 DGV

Sierra pedal box modified to for a twin cable setup (see first picture)

Choice of two linkages (see second and third photo)

I think using the black linkage will be easiest, if I can find a suitable cable as it would use the most direct route and is ready to go.

The red linkage I think it a better overall design, but would need a longer cable over a more fiddly route, though it can be done. Also I would need to de-modify, or make a new arm for it.

I had a couple of what appear to be escort cables with the carb and the black linkage, but when trial fitted they would have forced the carb to approx 25% open permanently and then only needed the tiniest of movements to fully open the carb. There simply wasnt enough inner available at the pedal end, otherwise this could have been made to work.

Help?!

I think I would go for the red link it will give a nice progressive response and modifying or making a new link is an easy job. As for cable it can be as long as you like and make no difference to feel as long as there are no sharp bends and it can be bought off the roll

As suggested the red one looks best, but can't you fit the arm the other way round so the cable goes out over the rocker cover?

That way the cable is going in the correct direction (less bends).

I have a similar setup (pinto & DGAV) and used a cam off a Fiat Punto, seems to work well.

Your linkage looks more like my black one, which does go that way round. I've had a good play around with it tonight and am happy with how the cable routes etc now with the red one and have chopped up the linkage now just need to put an extra bit of rod in the middle.

The red brkt shown is for the kickdown cable on an autobox , my s7 had the cable running the normal over the cambox route using a mk 4 cortina cable no issues with routing and worked very well mick ps it was bolt up fit no cutting /bending etc

Your pedal top mounting is suspect. Look for or make one that allows the cable end to rotate, keeping a straight cable and not bending it too and fro. Quadrants and rotating nipples work fine. Avoids a stress fracture of the cable 2000miles down the road. I know you spent good money on the mount you have. Pity the designer didn't spend enough brain power on it.
