Bucket & Spade Run

Recommended Posts

As mentioned at the Kent meet last night, here are details of the Bucket & Spade run:

http://rommcc.org.uk/bucket%20and%20spade%20run.html

I think you have to carry a plastic bucket & spade (as used on the beach for sandcastles!)

I don't know if our cars qualify, so I will e-mail the ROMMCC and let you know

Cheers

Al

Hi Al.

Would this make it 5th June this year. Hope so as I'm away to SW Wales next w/end to see the lad.

Will you be trying a club entry or as a gang of individuals doing our own forms.

Should make a grand day out.

Hi Ken,

Yes, that would make it Sunday 5th June.

I don't know about the format as to whether it would be individual entries or a club block.

But I would suspect, looking at the entry form, it would individual entries.

Am waiting for a reply from them as to whether our cars qualify, and will take it from there. Hope we do though

Cheers

Al

Yes Bob you can join the gang.

As long as you follow post two.

"gang of individuals"

So if you join, you would still be on your own.

Your the leader, your the leader, your the leader of the pack. oh yea.

We'll bring some bibs & wipes for you just in case though.....

There are also some Punch and Judy shows where we can sit you down to watch.

That should keep you interested enough while we go off and do our adult things.

Like eating ice creams, looking at the talent and wishing we could still pull.

Had a chat this afternoon to the chap from ROMMCC.

We will be welcome at the Bucket & Spade run (there are no vehicle restrictions). Date Sunday 5th June.

Anyway, no need to fill out the application form as it's too late to be included in the program, just turn up on the day.

Cost £5.

We're to tell the chaps that we are the Robin Hood Owners Club and they'll set us off together, oldies (cars not people Bob!!) go first, and they'll ensure we get to park together when we get to Government Acre in Ramsgate.

There is a pre-determined route to get to Ramsgate through the Weald of Kent, directions are given.

Teas & bacon rolls are available from the start point, Beech Court Gardens: http://www.beechcourtgardens.co.uk/location.html

We have been asked to start congregating between 8.30 & 09.00 with a view to getting away shortly after.

There will be fish/chips/ice cream aplenty when we get to Ramsgate.

If you fancy attending, put your name below so that we'll know who to look out for on the 5th June.

Forgot to add, (Lana reminded me), to identify cars on the run, a plastic bucket & spade (like the sort you built sandcastles with as a kid), should be displayed. A builders bucket & garden spade are not ideal, but would be worth seeing in a 7 though!!

If you are attending & can't get hold of said plastic bucket & spade, then let me know and we'll bring you one along to keep as a souvenir.

I'll start the ball rolling:

Al & Lana

If we if we leave there at 8, we would be there by 8:30, 8:40. We would be there in time by then.

OK Ken.

Cant say I can place the laybys, but I guess I can find them.

As soon as you get onto the dual carriageway one immediately on your left, or exactly opposite.
