13" wheels on the GBS Zero??

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I have done some searches and can not find an answer to this question

Do 13" wheels fit on the ford based GBS Zero?

I want to change to 13" wheels for the track with a larger profile tyre but im not sure if they will fit around the rear wish bones. Can anyone tell me if they have 13" wheels fitted and if so what width rims are you using front and back and what tyre sizes.

Thanks,

Andy

I think they will be too small for the rear wishbones.  It is very tight on 15" wheels.

I have never seen 13” on a Zero, before must be a reason.

Zero was designed for 15in wheels -dont think  you would not get 13in wheels over the brakes

Question why would you want small wheels and big tyres on a track ??

I can confirm, I tried my old 13" Weller rims on the Zero when we got the chassis and exactly as David S says above, they won't go over the rear wishbones :( shame as I quite liked them!

Smaller wheels would react nice and quickly to smooth the ride out, dampers can’t react as fast as rubber, that’s why they run small rims in F1. They heat up fast due to wall flex for short circuit work too.
