SVA is booked for 17 June @ Gillingham. Can any one confirm what documentation they will require (log book is currently held by DVLA at Maidstone etc)

The letter that the send you (appiontment letter) and maybe proof of engine year. Apart from that i cant remember him checking anything else

Jim,

all he wanted from me was proof of engine age, I said, would the V5 document be ok, he said yes.

So as long as you can take with you something to prove the age of the engine that should be allright.

Hi Jim,

I took SVA at Gillingham & accompanied two others on their tests.

One tester (Geoff ) insisted on seeing a V5 to check engine age.

Another one, Dave, accepted a letter from Ford Technical confirming the

origin and manufacture date of a particular engine no.

If you cant prduce one or the other they will use current emmissions

levels & a Pinto cant get anywhere near them.

Make sure you take some proof with you......can you get the V5 back?

Apart from that the testers are really helpful & explain why things have failed,

and detail what they would expect to see before passing the car.

Different stations seem to require different things. The best thing to do would be to ring your test centre and ask them what they want.
