I just recieved my first copy of the club mag and am realy impressed, a very professional looking product, it took me a long time to get passed the front cover though  all the nice cars you know :D

My wife said that the club gear should include and anorak with the logo on it! I told her to go do some cooking!

But seriously, I am impressed, Well done to all involved.

There we go - the deliberate mistake has been spotted !

Well done Andy !

Tool and equipment loan scheme form will be posted to these boards as soon as I can sneak away from 'er indoors to do it.

Thanks for the praise for the mag - keep it coming and dont be shy to give constructive comments on anything you would like to be included that hasnt been. The Mag is for you all to enjoy so we need to fill it with stuff that you want in but 3 of us cant guess for 700.

As it says in the mag - send us something in and we will get it in the mag - if not this time then maybe the next.

Keep the comments coming - good or bad - we need guidance on what to put in.

LADIES - GET YOURSELVES IN THE MAG - SEND US AN ARTICLE (NO COMMENTS ABOUT RECIPES AND KNITTING PATTERNS GENTLEMEN THANK YOU)

Cheers for now

Hi folks - being quite new to this malarkey and a relative minnow on the knowledge side - how do I go about getting my grubby little mits onto this magazine. Is there a subscription etc and better still how many members are there near me in Sunderland?

All you need to do is e mail me direct and I'll send you a membership form. Fill it in and you'll get a list of all those Hoodies near you and a copy of the Magazine with "that" front cover.

Cheers :D

EASY - Join the Club !

We are ready and waiting to welcome you as a Member of the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR)

Send an e-mail to either myself - mick@rhocar.org

or to the Chairman - tim@rhocar.org

give us your address and all the necessary info will be on its way to you by return post

For the info of every user of these pages -

A great deal of effort goes on behind the scenes of the Club which very few know about.

Has anyone ever wondered how this message came to be on your monitor right now ?

This very site would not exist without the fantastic voluntary contribution of time and effort from Mat Augier.

How do people all across the country know what is going on in the Club?

The Area Secretaries who organise many events around the country also arrange meetings - usually once a month in a pub - and thing magically start to happen !

Are there other sources of info about Robin Hood Cars ?

Members who have Websites themselves to share info with one and all. If you have ideas that the Club Site might be biased, the individuals tell it just like it is !

Who 'runs' the Club ?

The Committee, competantly assisted by the willing band of Area Secs, who do their level best to keep everything running for the benefit of all our members.

We are a very open Club that excludes NO-ONE no matter what car you drive - you dont even have to own a car, let alone a kit car ! We are proud of our mixed bag of owners vehicles, some of which can be seen alongside the Robin Hoods at our Club Area at the Shows.

You just need a sense of humour, a genuine desire to enjoy the company and banter of fellow members and a couple of quid to buy me a beer ( I'm sure thats in the rules somewhere ! )

The princely sum of £15 buys you membership for a year and will bring your postman running to your door in an excited state waving your Mag frantically in the air as he clears the hedge from next door ( well mine does ! ! ! ! )

Insurance discounts arranged by our Chairman, Tim Norman, will almost certainly recoup your £15 (considerably more is the norm) and if that is not enough I'll send you a picture of my secretary sunbathing on the lawn completely naked.

(That reminds me I must pop round and see if she wants a lift to the OAP's Lunch Club on Tuesday)

There is a great deal to be enjoyed from being a Hoodie - I enjoyed my first 5 years in the club so much and made so many friends I jumped at the chance of putting something back into the system by volunteering to join the new Committee to bring the Club into 2003 with a Bang !

My single, one and only disappointment has been that so many of last years members have not yet sent us their Membership renewal fee which has made our first year running the Club extremely difficult to budget for. The Magazine print run has to be estimated well in advance and the financial commitment is made in good faith to the printers. To find that over 200 of our members have not sent us their quids makes things start to look a bit tight.

Come on chaps - you get plenty out of the Club - PLEASE send us your fees.

Not wanting to end on a moan ( ! ) -

If you want a taster of what our Club is all about, get yourself to the Newark Show June 21/22 - details and directions in the Events bit at the top of Home Page of this site - bring a tent, come Friday (20th) evening if you can and come and make yourself WELCOME.

Looking Forward to welcoming lots of new members ( and renewals from last year ! )

My very warmest best wishes

Mick Mellors

 Just HAVE to say thankyou to our new committee and a big thankyou to MATT for all their hard work!

The new look mag was brilliant and I liked the idea of printing some kind of accounts indicator as to how the club stands ,financialy. (just confirms the sort of lads we have running the club for us) .I have a number of articals of club clothing that Mick was floggin at Stoneleigh, top notch quality, really impressive (just confirms the sort of lads we have running the club for us).

Good on ya lads, to take on such a massive commitment and ,ALREADY,to have suceeded with such impact impresses me enormously!

Thankyou.

As a new member and first time to the magazine , I was surprised by the very professional image it gives out . My wife threatened quaratine on one glance at the cover (but I did catch her reading it later !) . As I'm planning to take my young lad to Newark I don't think she's rumbled that the vision on the front page is Miss Newark !

Keep up the good work - looking forward to the rest ............

Yes there were some grand mags about in the 70s & 80s then again they needed to be - when we were all driving boyz tuned Mk 2 escorts and Ford Crapies !

I even had a Tiger (Avenger) for a while...

PS

Just bought a new daily mota a 94 Grandad Scorpio - very good value and the Genuine 49k 2.0 DOHC engine may yet come in useful .... :-)
