cheers guys.

shocking how sensible this forum is (im used to the AX owners club) :D

Must be an age thing :p

Im 25, and i have grown out of my wreckless driving stage. Planning to take it easy with the Hood.

I'm taking it to France in August, i wonder if they're cooler there than here. I'll never forget being stopped on the Czech/Austria border by two non-English speaking armed officers.... and unable to find my driver's license! eek -_-

What's the average age of members here then?

Androooo

We go to both extremes here

We have Pete's mate, Chris Brown and Big Jim keeping the elder end of the scale up than we have young pups like Dr Fox and Cabin Boy who have just been potty trained

i havent been stopped in the hood yet, i welcome any gentlemen of the law to do so just for a look. i only take the hood when i'm not in a rush, just so i can enjoy the feeling. I do feel like i'm driving a goldfish bowl, everybody staring at me like ive got two heads, its not exactly the most inconspicuous of cars but does feel great.

We were all parked up on one of the local pub car parks once, mr Plod drove past, (we all watched him, as you do!) he screeched to a halt, spun round in one movement, then drove into the car park, stopping right across the fronts of the cars (must be what they're trained to do. ;) ) we didn't know what to expect, but he was all over the cars, asking questions about price, building, leg room etc. and seemed dead keen on getting one.

We were just about to set off for a run, he moved his car to allow us to move, and we all spun the rear wheels as we joined the road to thumbs up from him!

They're not all little Hitlers, not quite!  ;) (sorry Dredd, Enforcer ;) )

your dead right Andy - I've been a boy racer and probably am becoming one again BUT with the benefit of the learning curve the first time round

Taken me years to get past the silly stage and have paid the price in the past. Over the past 10 years I have had to travel around 40,000 miles a year half on business and half private ( divorce etc.) to save on petrol i bought a nackered escort deisel, waste gate used to stick so it was quick, then the waste gate stuck open. The upshot of this is that i have had to learn to drive very smoothly to keep the speed up, antisipate a very long way ahead, and If some one wants to overtake on a bend let them go and live to fight another day. The Hood for me will be that extra exceleration, just to watch that annoying tailgater or Saxo chav disappear and to go swiftly round the bendy bits unlike the capsizing boat handling of the Galaxy..... As long as the Devil doesn't get me again!

Well, my 2d worth (I'm an old boy racer)

my son drove the Hood when it was first on the road.

He was 18 & looked it & never got pulled.

On my way to SVA, screenless, helmeted, in a torrential downpour on the M2 near Gillingham, no plates, & wearing bright orange waterproofs, with plastic sheet ducktaped over the passenger side, a police patrol car went past, slowed down, pulled back alongside, the passenger cop roared with laughter, mouthed "SVA?", I nodded, they both gave a thumbs up, roared with laughter again then scooted off.

They do have a sense of humour......

Why speed in a Hood? The slower you drive, the longer the enjoyment lasts.

Take it on track for ultimate speed, where EVERYONE has decided to take the risk, not a public road.

Bob.
